Notes on a Virtual Run
Since this run is not a timed event, you will not receive a number or a bib. Swag (shirts, medals, stickers) will not be ready to be picked up or mailed out until the week after Thanksgiving. Since we offered extra swag for posting to our Facebook page, we will be collecting that information and then sending an email out to all participants when things are ready to go. We wish you all a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving, and we hope to see your smiling faces on our Facebook page! Fun Run and "Fun"draiser! The Corvallis Turkey Trot is the Parks and Recreation Departments largest fundraiser for the Family Assistance Program. The Family Assistance Fund gives low income families and individuals access to programs such as swimming lessons, therapy classes and more. Whether you plan to run or donate, we are looking forward to keeping the momentum of the Turkey Trot going in 2020! Something for Everyone! Due to COVID 19 guidelines, and this community-wide event usually drawing around 1,500 people, we are unable to offer an in-person run. Instead, this year, we are asking and encouraging folks to do the Turkey Trot virtually! This means that you can participate from anywhere in the country, running the Trot at your own pace! Run during the week of Thanksgiving and post to our social media, and we'll send you a fun prize! On top of that, we would like to extend the opportunity to those who do not want to run, but still want to donate, to do so with the Turkey Trot Donation Drive! If you'd rather stay in this year, you can help "run the race" by donating money to the Family Assistance Fund. Every dollar you put to towards the Turkey Trot Donation Drive will help the Family Assistance Program continue to provide support for low income families and individuals for years to come! Whether you run the race or donate money, you will be a part of Turkey Trot history! Join us on this virtual journey and register today! |
